Commission for Women's Ministries

Purpose:

Foster active communication, spiritual enrichment, and education among the women of the Episcopal Church and to enable them to take their place in the governance and worship of the Church and the world.

Mission Statement:

To affirm and support each woman’s ministries as she works for the glory of God through the unchanging good news of Jesus Christ in that place where she finds herself.
We realize women are engaged in mission and ministry wherever they live and move and have their being. This might include formal organizations, such as ECW, Daughters of the King, Church Women United. Their ministry might be with their families, where they work, where they play. It might be serving within their congregations as lay readers, LEMS, altar guild and outside their church community, as a Kairos team member or serving Meals on Wheels. Our board attends Provencial and National ECW Triennial conferences. Many more women are taking their place in leadership roles beyond the local parish level – serving on provincial and national boards.

The Commission is a Christ-centered organization. We pray to be guided by the Holy Spirit in our activities and in our ministry to the women of this diocese and to the world. Remember, God has created you to do some definite service; God has committed some work to you that has not been committed to another. You have a mission - continue that good work already begun in you.
