Environmental Stewardship

The Environmental Stewardship Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas is dedicated to the conservation, sustainability and sacredness of God’s whole Creation by prayer, education, and action.

Projects: Present projects of the committee are to promote

• Involvement in environmental community issues. Further, many of our members are prominent in their communities and in the state for their service to projects related to preservation of the natural world.
• Use of our booklet, A Creation Steward's Handbook, to conduct a self-audit in the parish (or business!) to assess the level of environmental responsibility in day-to-day operations.
• Raising money to provide trees in the common areas of certain Habitat for Humanity projects and for a reforestation effort in Nebbe, Uganda.
