Historical Commission
The Historical Commission provides the expertise necessary for the diocese to maintain an awareness of the importance of historical documents and events and responds to requests for assistance involving historical data. The work of the ministry includes maintaining a register of all parishes and missions connected with the diocese, collecting and preserving in the archives of the diocese copies of all issues of The Church News and all other important publications and documents, encouraging the use of the diocesan archives in accordance with policies set by the bishop and the Executive Board, and encouraging the appointment of parish historiographers and providing them with assistance.
