Duncan Park Summer 2020 Program Update

After months of difficult conversations, fervent prayers, and carefully considering safety standards from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State of Colorado, Boulder County, and American Camp Association, Duncan Park has decided to cancel all 2020 camp programming. This includes all Family Camp sessions, the Adult Backpacking Camp, previously canceled youth sessions, and diocesan retreats.
Duncan Park staff members, in collaboration with the Bishop and diocesan office, considered every reasonable option to allow programming to continue safely this year. Reaching this decision has not been easy, and the staff grieves the lost time with campers and families. Duncan Park and the Diocese are confident that this decision is the best way forward, allowing Duncan Park to live into its commitment to protect and care for its guests and staff.
From June 14 through mid-September, Duncan Park will be open for family or individual reservations on a "first come, first served" basis. All private, family reservations are subject to the newly implemented, rigorous facility guidelines for physical distancing and sanitization, including a requirement that all guests must bring their own linens. This opportunity is subject to change, based on the ongoing pandemic response on a local and national level.
Families who registered for a cancelled Duncan Park session may contact Katie Young, Duncan Park Director, at duncan.park@dwtx.org, or Lisa Wray, at lisa.wray@dwtx.org, to transfer their session registration to Summer 2021, request a full refund of paid registration fees, inquire about calendar availability for private, family reservations in 2020, or donate registration fees to the Camps Scholarship Fund.
