A Conversation About Indigenous Ministries
World Missions will be hosting a free workshop with mission experts about the various aspects of working with indigenous ministries on Monday, January 8 at the Bishop Jones Center, 111 Torcido Drive in San Antonio, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Panelists, led by the Rt. Rev. Barry L. Beisner, bishop of the Diocese of Navajoland; will include the Rev. Bryn Caddell, St. Michael's and All Angels, Blanco; the Rev. Justin Lindstrom, Christ Church, San Antonio; the Rev. Canon Brien Koehler, Christ Church, San Antonio; Dawn McLendon, St Helena's, Boerne; the Rev. Jim Kee-Rees, Church of the Annunciation, Luling; and the Rev. Stephen Shortess, St. Andrew's, Seguin.
Topics of discussion will range from steps in initiating partnerships with indigenous people to ways of engaging the local church with indigenous ministries. Worship music will be led by the Rev. David Chalk of St. Francis by the Lake, Canyon Lake, and lunch will be provided for a suggested donation of $15. Click here to register for the event.
