First-Ever Manos de Dios Exchange Happening Now!

Manos de Dios and College & Young Adults have partnered up yet again as ministries, and this time with help from Camps & Conferences of the Diocese of West Texas to bring to life a wonderful opportunity for Alejandro Carcamo, a young adult from Honduras who has been involved with Manos de Dios his entire life. This summer, he has been granted the opportunity to return the service by traveling abroad to our own diocese at Camp Capers.

If you didn’t know, Manos de Dios is a ministry started in the year 2000 by members of four congregations in the Diocese of West Texas. Manos has sent missionaries to Danlí, Honduras for over 20 years. This year, Honduras is sending one of their own here.

Adventures with Alejandro

So what is Alejandro doing at Camp? Well, Alejandro, alongside many other young adults has answered the call to serve the youth in our diocese through Camp Capers. Alejandro is a Cabin Counselor and in many ways, Alejandro is also serving his fellow peers by being a shining example of what servant-leadership can look like. By coming from a far away place in Central America, Alejandro is exemplifying how the love of Christ is alive in the world way beyond our own borders. He is bridging the gap between what God is doing here and what God is doing abroad.

Alejandro is joined by Dani Jaime, a Manos Missionary who is also serving at Camp this summer as part of the Media & Marketing team. Together, they hope to demonstrate how God’s love is alive through mission work and how the young adults in our diocese can be a part of it.

We invite you to keep them in prayer and to remind others of what God is accomplishing through our ministries and how they can be a part of it.

To learn more about how to serve and be involved, email Manos de Dios at ManosHonduras@gmail.com and ask about the Young Adult Travel Award to Honduras in January 2025.
