The Good, the True, & the Beautiful Retreat

The Good, the True, and the Beautiful Retreat is a story-telling and spirituality retreat hosted by the Rt. Rev. David Reed. Together with Bishop Reed, the keynote speakers (Darden Smith, Terri Hendrix, and Lloyd Maines) will explore the restorative power of story-telling, songwriting, and creativity through the lens of faith. The retreat will also have afternoon creativity sessions with local artists, delicious meals, and time for fellowship and personal reflection.

2022 Keynote Speakers:

Darden Smith: Austin-based Darden Smith is a musician, story-teller, visual artist, and co-founder of SongwritingWith:Soldiers, which pairs veterans with musicals to tap into the transformational possibilities of collaborative songwriting. Click here to read more about Darden Smith.

Terri Hendrix: San Antonio-born Terri Hendrix is a singer-songwriter, workshop leader, and founder of OYOU ("Own Your Own Universe") a non-profit music community center, founded as a means to make the mind, body, and spirit-transforming power of music and the creative arts accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender, income, or physical mobility. "Saints & Paints" with the Rev. Arnoldo Romero
"Telling Stories" and "Heroes Journey" with Rob Schneider
Plus afternoon and morning sessions with Darden Smith, Terri Hendrix, and Lloyd Maines

All workshops will be open to all ages and levels of experience.
